The Medal of Honor for strengthening the fraternal relationship between the FDJ and the Lenin Communist Youth Association of the Soviet Union was awarded by the Free German Youth of the German Democratic Republic (GDR). The Medal of Honor was donated in 1964 in one step. They were bestowed on individuals as well as collectives who had made a contribution to strengthening the fraternal relationship.

Appearance and wearing style

The iron-colored medal with a diameter of 30 mm showed the two-line inscription on its obverse : дружба / friendship , which is surrounded by a laurel wreath. The reverse of the medal, on the other hand, shows the five-line inscription: FOR THE / FASTING / OF / FRATHERING / RELATIONSHIPS with a small five-pointed star at the end. The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest on a blue enamelled clasp approx. 10 mm high and 35 mm wide. The FDJ symbol can be seen in the middle on the right and a red flag with Lenin's golden head on the left. A golden branch of laurel peek out from both the red flag and the FDJ symbol, the tip of which almost reaches the edge of the clasp.
