Badge of honor of the VdgB

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The VdgB badge of honor was awarded by the Association of Mutual Farmers Aid (VdgB) in the German Democratic Republic . The award was made for special merits in helping farmers and has the shape of a rectangle with rounded corners. Early badges of honor have the VdgB badge in the middle. Later badges of honor show in the middle a vertical GDR flag with the national coat of arms. This flag is surrounded by two golden laurel branches crossed below, which are held together by the symbol of the VdgB. Halfway up the badge, these laurel branches merge into a green banner that reads in gold letters FOR SPECIAL MERIT . The back of the badge is smooth with a soldered needle with a counter hook.
