The badge of honor of the DTSB was an award of the German Gymnastics and Sports Association (DTSB) of the German Democratic Republic , which was donated in 1958 as an award of the DTSB. It was the successor to the badge of honor awarded by the Democratic Sports Movement in 1957 .

The badge of honor was awarded in the stages of bronze ( in recognition of good work ... ), silver ( in recognition of special achievements ... ) and gold ( in recognition of special services ... ). It shows a round wreath of oak leaves with a diameter of 18 mm, in the middle of which is the enamelled symbol of the DTSB in red on a black background. From 1977 the inscription: GDR was added to the lower edge of the oak leaf wreath , also on the award document.

The bronze badge of honor was awarded by the district or city councils of the DTSB, the chairpersons of the district councils in silver, the golden badge of honor was only awarded by the central board of the DTSB of the GDR in Berlin with the sign of the president. There is a soldered pin on the back of the badge, which is about 40 mm long.
