Badge of Honor of the Democratic Sports Movement

The badge of honor of the Democratic Sports Movement was an award of the German Sports Committee of the GDR , which was donated in 1957 as an award in three stages, bronze , silver and gold . The badge of honor shows a 16 mm diameter laurel wreath, which encloses the intertwined letters D and S (Democratic Sports Movement) on an openwork background. The pin attached to the back is approx. 40 mm long.

However, their award was discontinued in 1957 due to the conversion to the German Gymnastics and Sports Association (DTSB). The DTSB badge of honor, also awarded in three stages, was introduced as a successor .
