The badge of honor for outstanding people's solidarity was an award of the people's solidarity of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in three stages, bronze , silver and gold . The award took place in recognition of exemplary performance as well as self-sacrificing and tireless efforts in solving the tasks of popular solidarity. The oval bronze, silver-plated or gold-plated badge consists of a closed laurel wreath to which an inner lettering ring adjoins, which is followed by FOR OUTSTANDING SOLIDARITY WORK . The symbolism of people's solidarity can be seen in the middle and its slogan on a green background UNIT PEACE SOLIDARITY . The back of the badge is smooth and shows a vertically soldered needle with a counter-hook.
