Decoration of honor for excellent performance in the fire service

The badge of honor for outstanding performance in the fire service was donated on July 1, 1920 by the Bavarian state government .

The oval medal , initially made of cast iron (from 1923 made of bronze ) shows a fire helmet in the middle , which is surrounded by tendrils. On the reverse the inscription FOR EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE IN THE FIRE-FIELD SERVICE .

For members of a professional fire brigade , the award was given with a crimson red ribbon, for members of a voluntary fire brigade with a seven times sky blue and six times white ribbon.

The award was worn on the ribbon on the left chest.
