The Eichelsdörfer GmbH is a German Aeronautical Workshop in Bamberg .

history

The company was founded in 1948 by Hans Eichelsdörfer. Eichelsdörfer was a former employee of the Bamberg designer and aircraft manufacturer Willy Messerschmitt . Pleasure boats and furniture were made in the craft business and metalwork was carried out in the locksmith's shop. After the re-approval of gliding in 1951, two SG 38 school gliders and a Grunau Baby III were built. Then two Mü 13 E Bergfalke I were produced. Various types of discs were produced under license between 1952 and 1959 . A Piel CP-301 Emeraude motorized aircraft was also built near Eichelsdörfer. Then the series production of approx. 100 K 8b began under license from Schleicher and the production of 40 SB 5s from Akaflieg Braunschweig, half of which were delivered as a kit.

Today at Eichelsdörfer gliders and motor gliders in wood, composite and fiber composite construction are repaired, maintained and completely overhauled. Oldtimers like the Stampe SV-4 , Fi 156 , Bücker 131 or Bücker 180 Student are being restored. Eichelsdörfer is also the model supervisor for SB-5, Valentin Mistral C and Kiwi , Focke-Wulf Weihe 50 , Olympia Meise and Kranich III , Vogt Lo 100 , Lo 150 and the school glider SG 38.

The company has been an EASA- recognized development company (EASA-AP 146) since 2005 and has received approvals as a CAMO company DE.MG.0521 and as a maintenance company DE.MF.0521.

The company is also known for painting work. Other activities include mold construction and the production of fiber composite components for industry as well as control rods and fittings for various aircraft manufacturers. The aircraft welders in the locksmith's shop carry out all types of welding work on steel, stainless steel and aluminum.
