In anatomy, an egg joint (syn. Ellipsoidal joint , articulatio ellipsoidea ) is a joint with two egg-shaped ( ellipsoidal ) joint parts, one of which is concave (joint socket), the other is convex (joint head). The egg joint is biaxial, so movements in two main directions are possible.

Egg joints are the first head joint between the atlas and the skull and the upper level of the wrist .
