Eiji Gaya ( Japanese 賀 谷 英 司 , Gaya Eiji ; born February 8, 1969 in Hokkaidō ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Gaya learned to play soccer on the school team at Noboribetsu Otani High School . He signed his first contract with Sumitomo Metal in 1987 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League . In 1987 he reached the final of the JSL Cup . With the founding of the professional league J.League in 1992 and the associated reorganization of Japanese football, Sumitomo Metal became the Kashima Antlers . In 1993 he reached the final of the J.League Cup and Kaiserpokal . With the club he became Japanese champion in 1996 . For the club he completed 104 games. In 1997 he moved to league rivals Yokohama Marinos . For the club he completed 26 first division games. In 1998 he moved to league rivals Kyoto Purple Sanga . In 2000 he moved to the second division club Vegalta Sendai . In 2001 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club . For the club he completed 64 games. At the end of 2001 he ended his career as a football player.
