The Mission Medal of the Austrian Armed Forces is a state award of the Republic of Austria for its military personnel.

It has existed in its current form since 2001 and is awarded by the Minister of Defense . Multiple awards are permitted. Soldiers can receive the medal if they have actively served in one of the following four areas:

The medal is bronze in color and is worn on a triangular folded ribbon. The different areas for which this award is given can be recognized by the design of the ribbon: when it is awarded for a military defense case or an assistant mission, it is predominantly red with white stripes; for services in the event of natural disasters or abroad, it is predominantly white with red stripes. Two swords that cross each other are attached to the tape for military defense. If one of the medals has been awarded several times, the number is indicated by a number attached to the ribbon of the corresponding medal.
