In the 11th and 12th centuries Einsbach was the seat of the noble family of Einsbach, whose Rottbach castle was located on the site of today's Zötzelhof . Until 1400 the place was owned by the Eisenhofer, from whom the Hofmark passed to the monastery Fürstenfeld and remained there until the secularization in 1803.
