Eintracht Ahaus (officially: Spielverein Eintracht Ahaus 1908 eV ) is a football club from Ahaus in North Rhine-Westphalia . The first men's team currently plays in the Landesliga Westfalen 4 .
history
The club was founded on September 18, 1907 as the Ahauser Ballspielclub . The first game in the club's history did not take place until 1908 against a team from Rheine . For this reason, 1908 counts as the year of foundation. In 1920 the club joined the West German Game Association . Four years later, the ball game club merged with a club not known by name to form the Ahauser Spielvereinigung 08 . In 1934 all sports clubs in Ahaus were merged to form the gymnastics and sports club 1892 Ahaus . After the Second World War , it became today's game club Eintracht 08 Ahaus .
In 1953, Eintracht achieved promotion to the state league for the first time , which was then the highest amateur league in Westphalia. Two years later, he was relegated to the district class, before jumping into the regional league again in 1966. In 1968 the Ahausers succeeded in promotion to the Association League Westphalia, which was introduced in 1956 . After a seventh place in the 1968/69 promotion season, he was relegated to the national league in 1971 . In 1973 it went down to the district league, before the sporting low point was reached in 1976 with the descent into the district league.
This was followed by more regional league guest games between 1982 and 1984 and from 1994 to 1996. In the 2009/10 season, Eintracht managed to return to the Landesliga Westfalen as a district league champion, after Eintracht was runner-up nine times in the previous 14 district league years.
