Single spark ignition coil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The single spark ignition coil is a component used to ignite the cylinders of internal combustion engines . It is used in engines with any number of cylinders and an electronic ignition system. The coil generates a high-voltage pulse through its primary and secondary windings , which creates the spark in the spark plug .

function

The ignition spark is triggered by an electronic component (power module) according to a defined distribution logic, which is dependent on certain signals from the position sensor of the camshaft and the knock sensor of the crankshaft of the engine. A cascading (group of several diodes ) that is connected to the secondary circuit can prevent undesired arcing.
