Individual mandate holder

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An individual mandate holder is a voluntary member of a municipal representative body (e.g. municipal council , municipal council , city council , city council , district council ) who was elected to the municipal representative body (main body) by being listed as an individual applicant (often without a party ) in a local election .

The individual mandate holder is shown separately as such if he does not belong to any parliamentary group in this municipal representative body. Individual mandate holders can also be members of a political group.

The opposite of individual mandate holders are list holders of parties or electoral associations who have been elected as honorary members of a main municipal body on the basis of a list nomination .

In order to be elected as an individual mandate holder , a corresponding minimum number of supporting signatures are required for this individual applicant, depending on the applicable municipal constitution (municipal regulations) and the local election laws of the respective federal state .

In most cases, no new support signatures are required for uninterrupted re-election as a single mandate holder. The individual applicant's own signature is sufficient for the nomination .
