Eir (mythology)

Eir is the goddess of medicine and healing in Norse mythology . She is considered the best healer and belongs to the Aesir , a gender of the Nordic deities. She is also mentioned among the servants of Menglöd, probably a form of Frigg . In the Thulur, Eir is a name of a Valkyrie . If all three figures designate a single goddess, a Valkyrie who heals wounds and raises the dead may originally have been thought of.
