Eischen ( Luxembourgish Äischen ) is the largest town in the Luxembourg municipality of Hobscheid . The municipal administration is also located here.
Eischen is directly adjacent to the Belgian city of Arlon in the west . Looking to the east, it is surrounded by deciduous and coniferous forests at the entrance to the Eisch Valley , the "Valley of the Seven Castles". In the middle of the village the stream called "Bech" flows into the Eisch, in the east the Mühlenbach.
Eischen can be reached via the CR 108 from Steinfort , from Arlon with the N 844 (Belgian) / N 8 (Luxembourg) via Gaichel and from Hobscheid on the CR 105.
With the Attert line, Eischen had a train station; it was closed in 1967. The old railway line including the tunnel was converted into the Sentier des Sept Chateaux cycling and walking route .
In addition to numerous hiking trails, for example to the Rentert chapel dated 1671 or the tomb of Countess Ermesinde in Clairefontaine Abbey (now part of Arlon), as well as the gastronomic offer, sports such as tennis and golf are also available near the hotel in Gaichel.
