Railway Schönwehr – Elbogen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The railway Schönwehr - Elbogen (Czech: Dráha Krásný Jez - Loket ) was a private railway company in Austria-Hungary with headquarters in Vienna. The company was the owner of today's railway line Schönwehr – Elbogen ( Krásný Jez – Loket in Czech ) in north-west Bohemia , located in the Bohemian spa triangle .

history

The railway Schönwehr – Elbogen was approved on May 26, 1899, construction and operation of the connection line from Schönwehr, located on the Karlsbad – Marienbad line, via the mountain town of Schlaggenwald ( Horní Slavkov in Czech ) to Elbogen, the terminus of a local railway from Neusattel . The construction was intended as a second-class main line . At that time, the state guaranteed a 4 percent return on investment capital up to the 76th year after the license was granted, i.e. until 1975, at a maximum of 70,000  florins per year. The route was opened on December 7, 1901.

The operation was led from the beginning by the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) on behalf of the Elbogen – Schönwehr railway . After the First World War, the newly founded ČSD took the place of the kkStB.

On January 1, 1925, the Schönwehr – Elbogen railway was nationalized by law and the line was integrated into the ČSD network. The license, which ran until 1975, thus expired after only 26 years.
