Bilinga railway accident
In the railway accident at Bilinga on June 22, 2010, a passenger train of the Chemin de fer Congo-Océan (CFCO), which was traveling from Pointe-Noire to Brazzaville , derailed between Bilinga and Tchitondi in the Republic of the Congo .
The accident happened in a curve from which four cars of the train were carried out. The cars fell into a ravine. 76 people died and at least 745 were injured. The poor condition of the superstructure was assumed to be the cause of the accident .
