At the railway accident Piotrków on 9 October 1962 in Piotrków two international were fast trains involved. 34 people died.

Three wagons of a train from Sofia to Warsaw derailed on the double- track Warsaw – Czestochowa railway . They also damaged the neighboring track and protruded into its clearance profile . Shortly afterwards, the express train from Rome to Moscow ran on this track and hit the vehicles of the first train at a speed of 105 km / h . 16 passenger cars derailed .
