Eisha Marjara

Eisha Marjara (* 1966 ) is a Canadian screenwriter , film director and producer . In 1999 she processed her Indian roots in her award-winning semi- documentary Desperately Seeking Helen .

Eisha Marjara first gained international attention in 1994 with her film The Incredible Shrinking Woman , followed by Desperately seeking Helen , a semi-documentary feature film about Bollywood actress Helen. In 2000, the film won the jury award at the Munich Documentary Film Festival and the Prix de La Semaine Critique at the Locarno Film Festival . The Canadian-German co-production The Tourist premiered on February 22, 2006 at the 24th Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québécois. The Tourist is the first film from Marjara's own production company Magic Carpet Films.
