The Tourist is a Canadian-German short film from 2006 about alienation and the creation of identity. Filmmaker Eisha Marjara directed, wrote the script and was responsible for editing.
action
Ron, a loner who insures himself of the reality of his surroundings with the help of a camera, flees from a failed relationship on an endless trip through Europe. In the strange atmosphere of the Munich Oktoberfest , he met the actress Julia ( Katharina Schwarz ) and her fiancé Bernie. The approach to both soon collapses his view of reality.
Awards
The Tourist received a nomination for best short film at the 5th Female Eye Film Festival (FeFF) in 2006.
Others
The Tourist was shot entirely in Munich in 2004 and used the area around the Oktoberfest to determine the protagonists' distorted perception of reality. The production premiered on February 22nd, 2006 at the 24th Rendez-vous du Cinéma Québécois .
