Thomas Lenz

Thomas Lenz (born March 24, 1960 in Oldenburg in Holstein ) is a German political official . Since 2006 he has been State Secretary in the Ministry of the Interior and Sport of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania .

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Lütjenburg in 1979 and completing military service in the German Navy, Lenz studied law at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel from 1980 to 1985 . In 1986 he passed the first state law examination in Schleswig, followed by the major state examination in Hamburg in 1989/1990. Lenz was then admitted to the bar.

In June 1990 he became advisor to the government plenipotentiary for the Schwerin district, in October 1990 he joined the state administration of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and became a consultant in the interior ministry. From 1992 to 1994 he was office manager of Prime Minister Berndt Seite , then from 1995 to 1998 department head in the State Chancellery of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. From 1999 until his appointment as State Secretary he also worked as a department head in the State Environment Ministry, where he was responsible for personnel, budget and controlling.

Thomas Lenz is an Evangelical Lutheran denomination, married and has three children.

In November 2006 he was appointed State Secretary in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Ministry of the Interior, led by Lorenz Caffier (CDU).
