Elías Alberto Porras

Elías Alberto Porras , called Pirincho , († before June 15, 2005 ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Porras belonged to the Partido Nacional . In the 1980s, leaders of the Movimiento por la Patria in Colonia, he entered 1984 in Lista 19 successfully for election and sat in the 42nd legislative period from 15 February 1985 to 14 February 1990 as a deputy for the department of Colonia in Cámara de Representantes . There he worked on the drafting of the law on free trade zones and the modification of tenancy law. He also campaigned as a supporter for the Ley de Caducidad . On the occasion of his death, he was commemorated in a speech given by Senator Carlos Moreira at the session of the Uruguayan Senate on June 15, 2005 .
