Elias Rodriguez (born August 23, 1964 in Ponape ) is a former Micronesian marathon runner .
biography
Elias Rodriguez joined the Summer Olympics in 2000 in Sydney in the marathon at. From the 100-strong field of participants, 19 runners had to end the race early. Rodriguez, on the other hand, held out and was cheered on by 100,000 spectators when he crossed the finish line as the 81st and last athlete. Rodriguez was the first Olympic athlete in his country through his participation.
After his career, he was the athletics coach of Micronesia and coached the athletes at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro .
