El Nene (* 1960 in Havana, real name: Pedro Lugo Martínez ) is a Cuban singer of Son Cubano .
Life
El Nene ( Spanish for "the baby" ) was active as a singer and percussionist in various Cuban rumba and son groups from the early 1980s . In 1994 he founded the septet Jóvenes Clásicos del Son with Ernesto Reyes Proenza , with whom he went on international tours.
In 2004 he was featured in the documentary Música cubana by the Argentinian director German Kral. In 2006 he founded his own septet Son del Nene .
