El Punt is a Catalan daily newspaper. It appears almost nationwide in ten regional editions and is the Catalan-language paper with the largest circulation. The publication of the newspaper is based on a participation model with correspondents in all parts of the country.

The newspaper was founded on February 24, 1979 in Girona . Until 1990 it was called Punt Diari . The online version of El Punt went online for the 30th anniversary of the paper on February 24, 2009 .

Effective July 31, 2011, El Punt merged with the daily Avui to form the Catalan-language daily El Punt Avui with the highest circulation .
