El Tesoro is a town in Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the Maldonado department in sector 6 . El Tesoro borders La Barra to the north and is located on the left bank of the Arroyo Maldonado , which flows into the Atlantic not far downstream.
Residents
El Tesoro had 1,396 inhabitants at the 2011 census, of which 695 were men and 701 were women.
