The association also created and looked after the Friedenshöhe , Friedrichsberg , Mirker Hain and Nützenbergpark parks .
history
Gustav Platzhoff was the founding board member of the association founded in 1870 . Long-term chairmen were August Freiherr von der Heydt (1882–1920) and Rudolf von Baum .
The aim of the association was to preserve some forests and open spaces for the population to relax. To do this, they used large financial resources to buy up properties and thereby withdraw them from speculation. In 1880 a contract with the city of Elberfeld stipulated that the property policy should be in accordance with the city's policy. In 1895 an own gardener was hired for the first time to oversee the facilities of the beautification association.
In the years of the economic crisis after the First World War , the importance of the association decreased. After the Second World War it did not succeed in building on its earlier importance. 1953 disbanded the association.
