Elbfall

Elbe falls in the Giant Mountains around 1900, above the Elbe falls, 1284  m nm

The Elbfall ( Czech Labský vodopád ) is a waterfall of the Elbe below the Elbbaude ( Labská bouda ) in the Czech part of the Giant Mountains . There, about one kilometer after the source of the Elbe , the river plunges from the edge of the Elbgrund ( 1258  m nm ) 40 meters deep into the Labské jámy basin.

Directly above the waterfall is the Elbfallbaude, a multi-storey reinforced concrete building from around 1970, which replaced the previous building that had burned down. A signposted hiking trail leads directly next to and partly through the Elbe Falls, which continues through the Elbe Valley to the mouth of the Weißwasser in Spindleruv Mlyn. In order to protect nature, this hiking trail is only accessible in some years.
