The company Electrostar GmbH ( original spelling in capital letters) based in Ebersbach an der Fils is a manufacturer of vacuum cleaners for cleaning applications in industry, commerce and the hotel business. The company is also the inventor and manufacturer of hot air hand dryers and hair dryers. With around 150 employees, the company is a medium-sized company that belongs to the Algo Company Group. The Algo Group is based in Germany, Austria, Malta and the Russian Federation. In 2013 the group achieved sales of around EUR 60 million. The group of companies employs around 250 people.

history

Founded Electro Schöttle GmbH & Co. KG Robert Schöttle senior in 1921 as a producer of vacuum cleaners. In 1948 the first high- speed kitchen machine came onto the market under the starmix brand . In the 1960s in particular, starmix kitchen machines were a bestseller. In 1956 the first multifunctional vacuum cleaners ("Starboy") and vacuum polisher ("Starmaster") were introduced to the trade. After the death of the company's founder Robert Schöttle in 1959, the management was taken over by his son Hans Schöttle and his son-in-law Peter Kotthaus. In the following years new developments in the hand dryer sector came onto the market. All products have had the starmix brand name since 1970. In 1981 Robert Schöttle Junior became the new managing director.

In 1997 the company expanded its export business and started its own joint venture in Beijing ( People's Republic of China ). One year later, the new GS industrial vacuum cleaner series was introduced, and the IS craftsman and industrial vacuum cleaner two years later . In 2003, a new partner was added in the form of the Russian Gorovoy family (Algo group). Initially, the Algo Group took over 25 percent of the company shares, but later increased this share to 51 percent. Roman Gorovoy became the operational manager. In 2007 the Starmix product range was expanded with the HS vacuum cleaner series for craftsmen in the medium price segment. In addition, the TT1800 hand dryer series with an active oxygen generator was launched. With the 100 percent takeover of Electrostar by the Russian Algo Group, the company was renamed from Electrostar Schöttle GmbH & Co. KG to Electrostar GmbH . In 2010 the suction cup series ISP permanent and ISC compact were introduced. With the takeover of Haaga Kehrsysteme GmbH by the Algo Group in 2011, the product portfolio in the cleaning area was expanded to include hand-held sweepers. In 2015 the NSG uClean series replaced the previous GS and HS devices. At the end of March 2019, the company left its decades-long headquarters in Reichenbach / Fils to move into a new, modern production facility in Ebersbach / Fils.

The products are sold in Germany, Europe and around the world. In addition to the production facility in Germany, part of the hand and hair dryer production takes place in China through the sister company BESEA (Beijing Electrostar Schoettle Electrical Appliances co., LTD).

Inventor of hot air hand dryers

Four years after the founding of Electrostar Schöttle GmbH & Co. KG, Robert Schöttle sen. the first hot air dryer in 1925. These hand dryers are used today in public facilities such as restaurants, administrations or cinemas and replace paper or textile towels in many places.
