Electric trolleybus operation in the municipality of Weidling was the official name of the trolleybus operation between Klosterneuburg and Weidling .

Route

The line, located just north of Vienna's city limits, connected the Klosterneuburg-Weidling train station on the banks of the Danube (on Klosterneuburg territory) with the village of Weidling, the terminus was at Villa Lanz . The 3.7 kilometer long route through the Weidlingbach valley was opened on May 22nd, 1908 and discontinued in December 1919 - at that time it was replaced by a bus line.

The Mercédès-Électrique-Stoll system was used , so the five Weidlinger cars also had - as is generally the case with this system - a small four- wheel contact car for power consumption and wheel hub motors . The route was completely single-lane, if two cars met, they had to stop briefly - typical for the Mercédès-Électrique-Stoll system - and exchange the feed lines to the contact cars. They then drove on with the pantograph of the oncoming car.
