Banfo was active in alpine skiing from 1995 to 1998, after which she switched to speed skiing, where she has been in the World Cup since March 9, 2002 . At the Speed Ski World Championships in 2003, she finished eighth, in 2005 third, in 2007 and 2009 second in the Speed 1 class. In the 2001/02, 2003/04, 2004/05, 2005/06, 2007/08, 2009/10 seasons she came third in the Speed 1 class in the overall World Cup. At the 2011 World Speed Ski Championships in Verbier , she finished seventh in the Speed 1 class.
