Elena Ceampelea (* 3. March 1947 in Ploieşti ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

She did gymnastics with Petrolul Ploieşti and Dinamo Bucharest. Ceampelea was the Romanian all-around champion in 1966, 1967, 1969, 1970 and 1971 and was a member of the Romanian national team from 1964 to 1974.

She took part in the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo and reached sixth place with the Romanian gymnastics team. At the European Gymnastics Championships in 1965 , she reached fifth place on the floor and on the balance beam.

In 1967 Ceampeala was sixth on the floor at the European Gymnastics Championships in Amsterdam. At the World Gymnastics Championships in 1970 in Ljubljana, she reached fifth place with the Romanian team. The following year she was fourth at the 1971 European Gymnastics Championships behind Erika Zuchold .

In 1972, Ceamelea took part in their second Olympic Games . In Munich she was sixth with the Romanian team. At the 1974 World Gymnastics Championships , the Romanians came fourth.

After her competitive sports career, Ceamelea was active as a trainer. From 1975 to 1991 she was with Triumf Bucharest and then with Steaua Bucharest until 2015 .
