Elena Maria Șorban

Elena Maria Șorban (born June 7, 1960 in Cluj ) is a Romanian musicologist .

Life

Sorban studied at the Music High School of Cluj and at the Music Academy "Gheorghe Dima" Cluj, musicology and composition . This was followed by a study visit to Erlangen from 1992 to 1993 with a DAAD scholarship .

Since 1990 she has been teaching music history and Gregorian palaeography at the “Gheorghe Dima” music academy in Cluj. She is a member of the organization of the early music festival Miercurea Ciuc and musica suprimata . She directs the Schola Transylvanica ensemble .
