Elena Mauti Nunziata

Elena Mauti Nunziata (born August 28, 1946 in Palma Campania ) is an Italian opera singer (soprano).

Life

Mauti Nunziata studied at the Conservatorio San Pietro a Majella with Gina Cigna . She won a singing competition in Palermo and made her debut at the Teatro Massimo as Liu in Puccini's Turandot . She became known for roles in operas by Giuseppe Verdi , Ruggiero Leoncavallo and Gaetano Donizetti . In the 1970s she appeared in several operas by Puccini at the Teatro alla Scala .

With performances in Chicago and Dallas, she made her debut in the USA in 1978 and also gave performances in Argentina and Venezuela from there. After her return to Europe she took part in the Festival of Verona and Aix-en-Provence and made guest appearances in the opera houses of Hamburg, Munich and Vienna.
