Elena Pulcini

Elena Pulcini (* 1950 in L'Aquila ) is Professor of Social Philosophy at the University of Florence . She studied at the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris III .

Pulcini conducts research on the subject of gender studies , which she embeds in a theory of modernity and modern individualism, with special attention to female subjectivity. Her current research concerns the transformation of identity and social bonds in the age of globalization .

Pulcini has published works by Rousseau and Bataille in Italian. She is co-editor of the magazines “Iride” (Il Mulino) and “La società degli individui” (Angeli), member of the organizing committee of the Italian Society for Political Philosophy (SIFP) and also a member of the European project Athena (European Thematic Network Project for Women's Studies ).
