Elephant Ridge is a strongly curved mountain ridge on the east coast of the West Antarctic Alexander I Island . It extends in a predominantly east-west orientation over a length of 800 m and rises 1.1 km south-southeast of Khufu Peak and 1.45 km southwest of Giza Peak up to 699 m high. In the south it is bounded by the Uranus glacier .
In scientific reports from the early 1960s, this ridge is listed as Man Pack Hill . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee , on the other hand, gave it its descriptive name on April 23, 1998, since the highest point reminds of the head of an elephant with the mountain ridge as its trunk .
