Elfy Haindl-Lapoirie

Elfy Haindl-Lapoirie (* 1907 in Bad Vöslau as Elfriede Haindl , † 1969 in Paris as Elfy Lapoirie ) was an Austrian painter.

Life

After studying at the arts and crafts school in Vienna , she married the Dutch industrialist De Beaufort and moved to Holland. After the Second World War she separated from her husband, moved to Paris and lived there as a freelance painter.

As a member of the Association of Painters and Sculptors of Paris ( Union des Femmes Peintures et Sculpteurs ) 1945-1967 participation in the annual art salons in the Grand Palais on the Champs-Elysee. He also exhibited from 1963 to 1969 as an associated member of the Salon des Indépendants and from 1966 to 1968 participated in the Salon de la Peinture Taurine in Nimes .

Some of her pictures are signed with E. de Beaufort , mostly (from 1947) with Elfy and - later - with E. LA POIRIE .

Characteristics of the creative periods

  • Beginning, period I: until 1947 (two-dimensional landscapes and cityscapes; exhibition in 1945 in the Salon Colcombet, Place Vendome, Paris).
  • Period II 1947 to 1957 (studio community with the cubist Conrad Kikkert; studies at the Académie with Claude Schurr , master class with Mac Avoy, Claude Schurr and Henri Cadiou ; first successes; contracts with several galleries, awards).
  • Period III 1957 to 1961 (mainly landscape paintings, still lifes and nudes; 1958 award in the nude painting category with the 9th International Prize of Deauville; 1959 award of the Grand Prize for Painting in Deauville; numerous exhibitions, including 1958 in Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam, 1960 in Vienna together with Tamara de Lempicka ).
  • Transitional period 1959 to 1961
  • Period IV 1961 to 1969 (marriage to Lapoirie; Cubist works; numerous exhibitions, including in Paris, New York, Bregenz, Malmö, Taverny, Versailles, Vichy, Nimes; international successes).
