Eli Ben-Menachem

Eli Ben-Menachem ( Hebrew אלי בן-מנחם; Born November 24, 1947 in Bombay , India ) is an Israeli politician and member of the Knesset .

Ben-Menachem immigrated to Israel in 1949 and studied at the military academy. He then worked initially as an aircraft technician and some time later also worked as a union leader for the Israeli airline El Al . In 1988 he was elected to the Knesset for the leftist party alliance HaMa'arach . From August 4, 1992 to August 8, 1993, he was Deputy Minister in the service of the Prime Minister . He was also Deputy Minister for Economy and Trade from March 7, 2001 to November 2, 2002 . He was also Deputy Minister for Construction and Housing from April 8, 1993 to June 18, 1996 and from January 11, 2005 to November 23, 2005 . He lost his seat in the Knesset in the 2006 elections. Ben-Menachem lives in Tel Aviv , is married and has three children.
