Elimelech ( Hebrew אֱלִימֶלֶךְAccording to the Book of Ruth, Naomi's husband is the father of two sons, Machlon and Kiljon . He emigrates from Bethlehem to the land of Moab because of a famine . There he and his two sons die. After the end of the famine, his wife Naomi returns to Bethlehem with her daughter-in-law, Ruth, while the other, Orpa , stays in Moab.
