Dror Elimelech

Dror Elimelech (* 1956 ) is an Israeli composer and poet.

The trained psychiatrist and psychotherapist studied piano with Pnina Salzman , Ruth Hilman and Bart Berman and composition with Sergiu Natra . He emerged with experimental and avant-garde music and composed works for solo instruments and chamber music, vocal works and works for electroacoustic instruments and live electronics. He set poems by Yona Wallach , Maya Bejerano , David Avidan , Paul Celan and Arthur Rimbaud, among others . He founded and organized the concert series Other Israeli Music and the Forum Night Happening for experimental music. He has also published several volumes of poetry and in 2002 received the Israeli Prime Minister's Prize. He is a member of the Hebrew Writers 'Association and the Israeli Composers' Association.
