Elin Lindqvist (* 1982 in Tokyo ) is a Swedish writer.

Lindquist first appeared in 2002 with her debut tokyo natt ( Eng . Tokyo Night ). The book is autobiographical, as the protagonist, like the author was born in Tokyo, after a while in Europe , in Japan, goes in search of self-discovery and meaning.

Her second novel , Tre röda Näckrosor ( Eng . Three Red Water Lilies ), is set in Vietnam and again in Japan . The topic is the uprooting of people in times of globalization and the associated inner emptiness and alienation from other people.

In April 2009 she published her third novel, which is thematically set in a completely different suite. The new book called Facklan - en roman om Leon Larsson ( Eng . The Torch - a novel about Leon Larsson ) tries to portray the life of ordinary people in Sweden in the early 20th century.

Elin Lindqvist currently lives and works in New York .
