Erden Alkan (born February 12, 1941 in Giresun , Turkey ) is a Mainz theater founder, author and director as well as a theater, film and television actor . The mime was also active as a radio play speaker and cabaret artist.

Alkan worked in various Istanbul theaters from 1969 to 1976 and also had roles in Turkish film.

After emigrating to the Federal Republic of Germany , he was seen as an actor at the Staatstheater Darmstadt and at theaters in Rheydt , Krefeld and Frankfurt am Main , but also at the Burgtheater in Vienna . He made his German television debut in 1982 in a one case for two episode. Numerous other television roles followed. Many people will remember him as the Turkish father Ümit Ergün , father of Deniz , in the soap opera Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten (from 2003). He has also appeared several times as Uncle Erdogan in the comedy series Alles Atze (2001/2007). Alkan had a smaller role in a German movie in 1999 in Kutluğ Ataman's Lola and Bilidikid . Here he played a taxi driver.

In 2003 Alkan founded his own theater in Mainz, the International Theater Erden Alkan Mainz. Here he also directs himself, for example in 2005 with the comedy Die bloutige Nigar ( Kanlı Nigar ) by Sadık Şendil , and shows some of his own programs such as the cabaret Once Turk, Always Turk .

Since 2008 he has played in the new ARD crime series Mordkommission Istanbul (based on the Özakin novels by ZDF presenter Hülya Özkan ) as Yilmaz, the supervisor of Istanbul Commissioner Mehmet Özakin (played by Erol Sander ).

In 1495 he took on the role of Imam in the series Lindenstrasse .

The slim, tall actor speaks German with a slight accent.
