Elinor Burkett

Elinor Burkett (born October 9, 1946 ) is an American journalist and author .

Working with Roger Ross Williams on the short documentary Music by Prudence earned her an Oscar in 2010 . There was a bit of a scandal at the awards ceremony when Burkett took the stage and interrupted Williams' acceptance speech. Burkett felt responsible for the film too, since she came up with the idea; However, she had already been released from her role in the project a year earlier due to differences.
