Eliot Paulina "Coco" Sumner (born July 30, 1990 in Pisa , Italy ) is an English musician . She released her debut album in 2010 under the band name "I Blame Coco".

biography

Eliot Sumner is the daughter of Gordon Sumner aka Sting and his second wife Trudie Styler . Long kept out of her father's popularity, she began making music in the mid-2000s. She published her own tracks on her MySpace page, whereupon some labels expressed interest. Eventually she was signed to Island Records .

The first releases were in early 2010. Together with Sub Focus , she had a first hit with Splash , which just missed the top 40 of the UK charts. Their debut album The Constant was released in November of the same year, but was only able to place itself in a lower chart position.

Since 2014 she has been publishing under her maiden name, Eliot Sumner. She released the EP Information (2014) and in 2016 the album of the same name.

On January 25, 2019, she released the album Nosferatu under the stage name Vaal.

Private

In 2009, Eliot Sumner lost her sense of smell after a serious head injury as a result of a fall. She has been in a relationship with the Austrian model Lucie von Alten since 2014.
