Elisabeth Bauck (born September 14, 1875 in Inowrocław , Posen Province , † after 1937) was a German writer .

Life

Bauck was born as the daughter of the Prussian officer Karl Bauck and the writer Anna Brentano-Bauck . When Bauck was five years old, the family moved with her to Pomerania and a year later to Berlin . In 1882, Bauck's father died during a maneuver; her only brother died shortly after the father.

Bauck only attended public schools briefly and at long intervals. Instead, she and her mother made long trips to France , Belgium and Switzerland, among other places . At the age of 14, Bauck became literary for the first time and supported her mother in writing her works; after her mother's mental illness, Bauck began writing his own works in 1898. She processed the travels of her childhood in her youth books, some of which were religious in content.
