Elisabeth Hakel (born December 17, 1977 in Steyr ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). From 2008 to 2017 she was an intermittent member of the Austrian National Council . Hakel is single.

Life

Hakel visited after the elementary school in Liezen the Stiftsgymnasium Admont and following the Federal Trade academy Liezen. From 1998 to 2000 she worked as the federal manager of the young generation in the SPÖ, from 2000 to 2007 she was a parliamentary assistant for Caspar Eine and from 2002 to 2006 a parliamentary assistant for Elisabeth Grossmann . In addition, she worked as a PR consultant at Krammer Consultants between 2005 and 2007. From 2007 to 2008 Hakel was press spokeswoman for the President of the National Council, Barbara Prammer .

At first, Hakel was politically active with the young generation, between 1995 and 1998 she held the position of chairman of the young generation in Liezen. On October 14, 2008, she was elected executive district chairwoman of the SPÖ Liezen and ran in the 2008 National Council election in seventh place on the SPÖ state list in Styria and second in the regional constituency of Styria North-West. Hakel moved into the National Council via the state list and was sworn in as a member of parliament on October 28, 2008. Hakel specifies the areas of traffic, infrastructure and economy in the Liezen district as the main focus of her parliamentary activities . Hakel is the area spokeswoman for the SPÖ parliamentary club for the arts and culture.

In the summer of 2017, it became known in the Austrian media that she had not paid any party tax for several years .
