Elisabeth Wiesmüller

Elisabeth Wiesmüller (born August 10, 1950 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian politician ( Greens ) and adult educator. Between 1999 and 2008 she was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament .

education and profession

Elisabeth Wiesmüller attended elementary school between 1956 and 1960 and in 1961, after completing a lower secondary school class, switched to the women's upper school of the Ursulines in Innsbruck (today economics high school). After graduating from high school, Wiesmüller graduated from the Federal Pedagogical Academy in Tyrol and passed the teaching examination for elementary schools in 1971. From 1972 to 1981 she studied German language and literature and psychology at the Leopold-Franzens-Universität Innsbruck in 1971, where she completed her Rigorosum in 1981.

After completing her training at the Pedagogical Academy, Wiesmüller worked at the Patsch elementary school between 1971 and 1972. During her studies she took on various representations at elementary schools and continued her education in adult education. After completing her studies, she worked from 1982 to 1999 as a freelance adult educator with a focus on seminars, moderation and communication training. She was also a contract teacher at the Innsbruck Social Academy from 1993 to 1999.

politics

Wiesmüller became politically active in the Brazil group in Innsbruck from 1983 onwards . In addition, she was active in the environmental platform Südostliches Mittelgebirge between 1992 and 2002 and was a councilor in the municipality of Lans and on the municipal board from 1993 to 2005 . In 1999 she received 33% of the vote in the direct mayor elections. She has represented the Greens in the Tyrolean Parliament since March 30, 1999 and is a member of the Committee for Labor, Social Affairs and Health in the XIV legislative period. From 1999 to 2003 she was also a member of the Committee on Federalism and European Integration. As a member of the state parliament, she is responsible for the Innsbruck-Land region. According to her own statements, her political focus lies in the areas of education, development policy and social affairs, whereby she is particularly involved in disability and immigration policy. Wiesmüller left the state parliament on July 1, 2008.
