Elise Bjørnebekk scales

Elise Bjørnebekk-Waagen (born February 19, 1990 ) is a Norwegian politician of the Social Democratic Workers' Party (Ap). She has been a member of the Storting since 2017 .

Life

Bjørnebekk-Waagen got involved in the youth organization Arbeidernes Ungdomsfylking (AUF) in her youth . She was one of the injured in the attack on Utøya Island in July 2011. She was forced to spend several months in a wheelchair after being shot in her knee. In 2015 she was elected to Sarpsborg's local parliament.

Bjørnebekk-Waagen entered the Norwegian national parliament in Storting for the first time in the 2017 general election . There she represents the constituency of Østfold and she was initially a member of the health and welfare committee. In October 2019, it was transferred to the Labor and Social Committee during the current legislative period.
