The Eliza Beach is a beach of Laurens Peninsula in the northwest of the island Heard in the southern Indian Ocean . It lies on the shores of Sydney Cove .
The beach is named after the American sealer Eliza from New Bedford , Massachusetts , who operated in the waters around Heard between 1855 and 1882.
